About Team GA Transplant

Team Georgia TGA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is promoting organ, eye, and tissue donation awareness, honoring donor families, living healthy and sharing with the world that transplantation works and participates in the Transplant Games of America.

Presently Team Georgia TGA has 130 members. (Transplant Recipients (organ, eye, and tissue), living donors, bone marrow recipients, donor families, transplant professionals, and supporters.

Every member is a registered donor, encouraging taking action on the state or national donor registry by making an actionable decision. Members also lead discussions at health fairs, shares personal stories at churches, schools, civic clubs, and/hospitals, volunteers with transplant/donation organizations such as LifeLink of Georgia, Georgia Transplant Foundation, Georgia Eye Bank, and support groups.

The 2026 Transplant Games of America

TeamGa Members competed in pickleball, tennis, cornhole, darts, Texas Hold'em, table tennis, trivia (Division 1 and 2), bowling, golf, track & field, swimming, basketball, volleyball, 5K, cycling 5K and 20K, and donor family trivia. 

 

Participants were also be involved in Life's Short Live It Living Donor & Recipient Gathering, Donor Tribute, a Red Carpet Parade of Athletes, and Opening Ceremonies.

 

TeamGa has 61 registered to attend the Games. In Division 1 (solid organ recipients) - 26. In Division 2 (living donors, cornea, tissue, bone marrow, and stem cell recipients) - 4. In Division 3 (donor family) - 4 including one transplant related professional. We are pleased to have 27 supporters registered which include 2 transplant related professionals.

 

This year we were pleased to add 2 new members to the Quarter Century Club, giving TeamGA 9 members who were recognized at the Quarter Century Club Dinner.

Games include individual and team competitions for all ages. All athletes are amateurs.

Transplant Games of America

The Transplant Games of America is a national, multi-sport event celebrating the lifesaving gift of organ, eye, and tissue donation.

 

Held every two years, the Games bring together thousands of transplant recipients, living donors, donor families, caregivers, and supporters from across the country to honor the legacy of donors, raise awareness about the importance of donation, and promote healthy living after transplant.

 

Through friendly competition, inspiring ceremonies, and community-building events, the Transplant Games serve as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact of donation and the strength of the transplant community.
